Tripitaka - Brown Living™

Tripitaka was born from a shared passion for health, flavour, and sustainability. Founded by a nutritionist with a background in microbiology and a brewer with expertise in fermentation, the brand brings together science and craft to create foods that truly nourish. Our journey began with a simple idea: to make everyday eating healthier, cleaner, and kinder to the planet. We started small, experimenting with kombucha and kimchi in our kitchen, guided by traditional methods and scientific precision. What grew from there is a range of gut-friendly, preservative-free products—date-sweetened jams, artisanal nut butters, probiotic ferments, and teas—that celebrate local produce and mindful living. Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do, from sourcing fresh ingredients from local farmers to using glass jars, paper packaging, and composting practices. Tripitaka is more than food—it’s a way of life, inspiring people to savour nature’s goodness while living consciously and joyfully.

Impact Created

Tripitaka creates impact by making food healthier for people and lighter on the planet. By using dates instead of refined sugar, we help customers enjoy nutrient-rich, gut-friendly products that support long-term health. Our kombuchas and kimchis promote natural probiotics, while our nut butters and jams offer clean energy without preservatives. On the sustainability side, we reduce plastic use by opting for reusable glass jars and biodegradable paper pouches. All food waste from production is composted, closing the loop and returning nutrients to the soil. By sourcing locally, we cut food miles, support farmers, and strengthen regional economies. Our small-batch production ensures minimal waste and maximum freshness, encouraging mindful consumption. Beyond products, we build community through wellness events and education around gut health and sustainability. The impact we create is twofold: healthier people and a healthier planet sustained by conscious choices.

Tripitaka was co-founded by Deepika Rao, a medical microbiologist turned nutrition and fitness coach, along with Abhinav Maranganti, a brewer with deep expertise in fermentation. Together, they bring science, flavour, and mindful eating to everyday foods.
