Initiated by Happy Faces Foundation, One ‘O’ Eight Knots is a social enterprise from Ahmedabad, Gujarat that aims to empower first-generation women artisans by providing them a platform where they are encouraged to utilize craft-based skills and create handmade products. All our products are crafted meticulously with an everlasting sense of love and warmth. At our very core, we believe in inclusivity and holistic growth. We strive to keep artistic skills and handicrafts alive while spreading the love for handmade production. Our mission is to build confidence and create sustainable employment opportunities for women of diverse socio-economic strata. Just as we are committed to the cause of our makers, we are also dedicated to our customers bringing them well-crafted, artisanal outcomes that are environmentally and socially sustainable. We ensure responsible consumption of natural resources from procurement, production to packaging.

One 'O' Eight Knots - Brown Living™

One ‘O’ Eight Knots empowers first-generation artisans to create sustainable, hand-crafted lifestyle products. We celebrate hands that weave, knot, tie, cut, stitch, dye, design, organise and create. All products are crafted meticulously with an everlasting sense of love and warmth. We are online since 2020 and have a range of about 60 + unique products in beautiful colours. And importantly, we are committed to building confidence and self-sustenance among economically challenged urban and rural women. An identity of a maker, a creative artisan, an empowered woman. We aim to craft magic with every weave and knot.

What is the manufacturing process?

Macrame-Hand knotting cotton cord.Macrame originated in the Middle East hundreds of years ago as a craft based on knotting and creating patterns. Hand weaving Banana fibres with cotton.

What are the ingredients/materials you use?

Cotton cord/thread.The cotton cords are sourced locally and dyed in different colours. These hues are chosen by our design team to create beautiful, contemporary products for everyday living. Banana fibre we produce our own. Metal trims

How do you source your raw materials/ ingredients?

Local and PAN India. Banana fibre we produce our own from the banana psudostem grown at the bank of river Narmada. The cotton cords are sourced locally and dyed in different colours. These hues are chosen by our design team to create beautiful, contemporary products for everyday living

During its life and beyond, can your products be repurposed or composted at home?

Yes our products are sustainable.And they can be repurposed if we want.The pattern can be opened and then redesigned.But we do not encourage this unless it is a specific requirement as it is hand made and time taking process.
