Earthbound Traditional Cookware, a brand dedicated to reviving sustainable, handcrafted cookware made of iron, brass, clay, and soapstone. Our mission is to preserve traditional craftsmanship while promoting healthier cooking alternatives to harmful modern materials. We began in 2016, serving our local Hyderabad community through exhibitions. After COVID, we decided to scale by moving online and expanding our reach across India and abroad. Today, we are in the growth stage, with a strong Instagram presence and an e-commerce website, r. Our challenges include scaling digital reach beyond social media, streamlining operations for larger volumes, and building deeper corporate and retail partnerships. We also seek innovative ways to communicate the cultural and health value of traditional cookware. Our aspiration is to make sustainable, artisanal cookware a mainstream choice worldwide, creating impact for both consumer health and artisan livelihoods.

What is the manufacturing process?

Our cookware is crafted by skilled artisans from across India, using traditional techniques and pure, natural materials. Each piece is hand-finished and hand-seasoned with natural oils, ensuring it is chemical-free, non-toxic, and built to last.

What are the ingredients/materials you use?

We use pure, natural, and non-toxic materials in all our cookware. Depending on the product, this includes: Iron & Cast Iron – for skillets, tavas, and pots, hand-seasoned for natural non-stick properties. Brass & Kansa (Bronze Alloy) – for bowls, handis, masala boxes, and servingware, crafted by traditional artisans. Soapstone – for pots and kalchattis, ideal for slow cooking and retaining natural flavors. Clay/ Earthenware – for traditional cooking, naturally non-toxic and chemical-free.

How do you source your raw materials/ ingredients?

We source all our raw materials from trusted, certified suppliers and skilled artisans across India. Every material—be it iron, brass, kansa, clay, or soapstone—is carefully selected for purity, quality, and sustainability. By working closely with local craftsmen, we ensure that each piece is authentic, non-toxic, and crafted with care from start to finish.

During its life and beyond, can your products be repurposed or composted at home?

Yes! Our cookware is designed to be durable and long-lasting, and even at the end of its life, it can be repurposed or recycled responsibly. Natural materials like clay, soapstone, and metal can be reused in creative ways around the home, while our eco-friendly, plastic-free packaging is fully compostable.

Shweta, the founder of Earthbound Traditional Cookware, started the brand from her passion to bring authentic, handcrafted culinary essentials into everyday kitchens. What began in 2016 as a heartfelt effort to honor earthy cooking traditions grew into an online journey post-pandemic — all guided by her hands-on dedication to craftsmanship, personal seasoning of every product, and a commitment to keeping traditional cookware alive
