What is the manufacturing process?

Our oils are distilled using the age-old deg-bhapka method, a slow and sustainable process that captures the soul of each botanical. Our incense sticks are hand-rolled, blending pure resins, herbs, and woods with care. Each perfume is thoughtfully crafted using essential oils and traditional attars, offering a sensory experience rooted in India’s rich fragrance heritage authentic, conscious, and timeless.

What are the ingredients/materials you use?

At Heritage Box, we believe in purity, provenance, and purpose. Our creations are made using: Woods: Sandalwood, agarwood (oud), cedar, vetiver Flowers: Desi gulab (Indian rose), jasmine, marigold, kewda, champa Fruits & Resins: Citrus peels, dried fruits, frankincense, myrrh, guggul Herbs & Spices: Cardamom, clove, saffron, patchouli, tulsi, masoor dal Carrier Oils: Jojoba, sweet almond, sesame (til), and wheatgerm oil Handcrafted Materials: Brass incense holders, glass perfume bottles, recycled and eco-conscious packaging

How do you source your raw materials/ ingredients?

We source our raw materials directly from local farmers, foragers, and artisan distillers across India many of whom have been preserving traditional methods for generations. From rose petals in Kannauj to vetiver roots in Tamil Nadu and frankincense from tribal cooperatives, each ingredient is handpicked with care, ensuring purity, sustainability, and fair practices.

During its life and beyond, can your products be repurposed or composted at home?

No, but our products can be refilled and reused. While they may not be fully compostable at home, our perfume bottles, jars, and roll-ons are designed for long life and repurposing. They can be refilled, reused for DIY blends, or repurposed as small storage, vases, or decor. We prioritize recyclable and low-waste materials, encouraging mindful use beyond their first life.

Heritage Box was founded by Radha and Paresh, two best friends united by their love for India’s sensory heritage, they’ve travelled across India collecting sourcing region-specific herbs, and working alongside traditional distillers to craft fragrances that carry the emotional identity of each region.
Each product is not just a scent, it’s a memory, a moment, a place bottled with care.
