What is the manufacturing process?

Herberie products are manufactured in small batches through a fully manual, hands-on process. Raw ingredients such as botanical oils, butters, plant extracts, and clays are accurately measured and blended in controlled conditions to maintain ingredient stability and quality. Heat-sensitive ingredients are handled at regulated temperatures to preserve their natural properties. Each formulation is mixed, poured, and finished by hand rather than automated machinery. Products are then allowed to set or cure as required before being cleaned, labeled, and packed. All packaging containers are thoroughly cleaned and washed three times before filling to maintain hygiene standards and help ensure product safety and shelf stability. We follow batch-wise production to ensure consistency, hygiene, and quality checks at each stage, while minimizing overproduction and material waste.

What are the ingredients/materials you use?

We use high-quality, naturally derived, plant-based ingredients such as cold-pressed botanical oils, plant butters, herbal infusions, clays, seed powders, and therapeutic essential oils where appropriate. These formulations are oil-based or dry botanical blends and do not contain synthetic preservatives, as they are anhydrous (water-free) or made from naturally stable plant materials. No animal-derived ingredients are used in these specific products. Each ingredient is selected for its functional benefits, skin and hair compatibility, and overall contribution to nourishment, barrier support, and sensory experience.

How do you source your raw materials/ ingredients?

We source our raw materials from trusted suppliers who specialize in botanical and skin-safe ingredients. Preference is given to high-quality, minimally processed oils, butters, and plant materials that retain their natural properties. We choose ingredients that are responsibly produced and obtained through ethical supply chains. We work with vendors who provide transparency about origin and quality standards, ensuring that what goes into our products aligns with our values of care, integrity, and long-term sustainability.

During its life and beyond, can your products be repurposed or composted at home?

Many Herberie products come in reusable packaging that can be repurposed for storage, travel containers, or household use once emptied. We encourage customers to clean and reuse jars and bottles before recycling them according to local guidelines. Our formulations are made with naturally derived ingredients, and product residue can be washed away safely without contributing harsh synthetic load to the environment.
