About Dream of Soul

Dream of Soul - Brown Living™

Dream of Soul was started with a simple intention — to create meaningful, sustainable products that respect nature and support local livelihoods. Based in North Bengal, close to India’s jute-growing regions, the brand works with natural materials like jute, neem wood, wax, loofah, and paper to replace plastic-heavy alternatives. We focus on small-batch production, honest sourcing, and eco-conscious packaging while supporting artisans, women contributors, and small manufacturing units. Our goal is to make sustainable living accessible, authentic, and rooted in Indian craftsmanship.

What is the manufacturing process?

Our products are created through a combination of home-based handcrafting and responsible third-party manufacturing. Handmade candles, soap scrubbers, natural loofahs, and wax wardrobe fresheners are produced in small batches at our home unit using manual processes and basic equipment, ensuring quality control, minimal waste, and consistency. Jute slippers and jute-based products are manufactured through associated units linked to the Jute Corporation of India, which supports traditional jute craftsmanship. Neem-based utilities such as toothbrushes, tongue scrapers, and combs are sourced through Delhi-based manufacturing partners specialising in neem wood products. All products are quality-checked before dispatch.

What are the ingredients/materials you use?

We use natural, biodegradable, and responsibly sourced materials across our product range. These include natural jute fiber, neem wood, vegetable glycerin base, natural loofah fiber, soy wax, beeswax, cotton wicks, and natural fragrance oils. Materials are selected based on durability, safety, and reduced environmental impact, while supporting traditional craft practices and minimising plastic usage wherever possible

How do you source your raw materials/ ingredients?

Raw materials are sourced from verified suppliers and manufacturing partners across India. Jute-based products are sourced through units associated with the Jute Corporation of India, ensuring authenticity and support to the jute ecosystem. Neem wood utilities are procured from Delhi-based manufacturing partners experienced in producing neem products at scale. Ingredients for handmade candles, soaps, and wax fresheners are sourced from trusted suppliers and used in small-batch production at our home unit. We prioritise reliable sourcing, ethical practices, and consistency in material quality.

During its life and beyond, can your products be repurposed or composted at home?

Yes. Most of our products are designed for reuse, repurposing, or natural end-of-life disposal. Jute slippers, jute bags, and loofah-based products are biodegradable and can be composted at home. Neem wood products are natural and can be repurposed or safely decomposed. Candles and wax fresheners can be reused as fragrance blocks or the containers repurposed. Packaging materials are recyclable or compostable wherever applicable. Our intent is to ensure minimal waste and encourage conscious consumption beyond first use.
