Pratha Naturals was born from a personal need for safe, effective, and natural self-care during pregnancy. Founded by Soniya Gaikwad, a chemical engineer with global industry experience, the brand blends ancient Indian traditions with modern skin science. Starting with cold process soaps made in small batches, Pratha Naturals has grown into a clean beauty brand offering over 70 SKUs. All products are plant-based, handcrafted, and free from toxins, parabens, SLS, and palm oil. Sustainability is at the core — from ingredients to plastic-free packaging. The brand empowers women artisans and offers in-plant training to students, making it a movement for conscious living.

Our manufacturing process involves small-batch, handcrafted production using plant-based, non-toxic ingredients, combining ancient Ayurvedic methods with modern, lab-tested formulations to ensure purity, safety, and sustainability.

What are the ingredients/materials you use?

We use plant-based, toxin-free ingredients like Neem, Aloe Vera, cold-pressed oils, clays, and clean actives, all packed in eco-friendly, plastic-free, biodegradable materials.

How do you source your raw materials/ ingredients?

1) Locally from Indian Farmers & Co-operatives: Ingredients like Neem, Aloe Vera, Turmeric, Amla, Reetha, Shikakai, etc., are procured directly from organic farms and certified herbal suppliers. 2) Cold-pressed Oils & Butters: Sourced from certified cold-press units to retain maximum nutrients and natural aroma. 3) Clean Cosmetic Actives: Plant-based actives like Niacinamide, Vitamin C, AHAs, Probiotics are procured from GMP- and Ecocert-compliant labs. 4) Clays, Salts & Powders: Naturally mined and sun-dried materials like Multani Mitti, Activated Charcoal, and Dead Sea Salts are sourced from verified regional suppliers. 5) Eco-friendly Packaging: We use Indian-made recyclable glass, kraft paper, and biodegradable cartons from zero-plastic certified vendors.

During its life and beyond, can your products be repurposed or composted at home?

1) Cold Process Soaps & Shampoo Bars → Fully biodegradable; leave no residue in water systems. 2) Glass Jars & Bottles → Can be reused for storage or recycled easily at home. 3) Kraft Paper & Cardboard Packaging → 100% home-compostable and recyclable. 4) No Plastic, No Waste → We strictly avoid shrink wraps, bubble wrap, and non-recyclable materials.

Soniya Gaikwad is the CEO and Co-Founder of Pratha Naturals, a clean beauty and wellness brand rooted in tradition and sustainability. Motivated by a desire for pure, effective, plant-based skincare, she started the brand with her partner Dinesh Pakade, crafting products by hand in a kitchen and blending botanical wisdom with scientific research.
