About Little Buttercups

Little Buttercups - Brown Living™

Little Buttercups is a collection of consciously curated garments, where every outfit tells a story of sustainability, tradition, and love. Our organic, handcrafted clothing offers a warm embrace for kids and young adults, blending the elegance of Indian artistry with the comfort of Western silhouettes. Each piece is made from biodegradable fabrics and natural dyes, reflecting our commitment to ethical, planet-friendly fashion. We believe fashion is not only about what we wear, but about the hearts and hands that create it. Our purpose is to craft beautiful, high-quality clothing while fostering a world where kindness and style coexist. After over a decade in the fashion industry, I witnessed its environmental impact and unsustainable pace. Becoming a parent deepened my resolve to make a difference. As parents, we owe it to our children to shape a conscious future. At Little Buttercups, sustainability is not just a choice—it is our promise of hope.

Mission Statement

Little Buttercups nurtures eco-conscious choices to create a greener, happier world.

Impact Created

'Little Buttercups' is dedicated to eco-conscious choices, from organic cotton and eco-friendly dyes, to wooden or coconut shell buttons, to bio-degradable packaging and labeling. We ensure that our clothing leaves a gentle footprint on the Earth. Our mantra is 'quality over quantity,' where every garment is a testament to responsible craftsmanship. Our commitment to the planet is sewn into every stitch. We believe that fashion should be as kind to the Earth as it is to our children.

What is the manufacturing process?

At Little Buttercups, every garment is crafted through a detailed and ethical manufacturing process. Designs are developed through market research and trend analysis, ensuring they reflect our brand’s ethos. Fabrics, colours, and trims are carefully chosen and detailed in a technical specification sheet. Patterns are created, and sample garments are tested for fit, comfort, and workmanship before production begins. Sustainable fabrics and trims, such as wooden shell buttons and lace, are sourced and inspected for quality. Fabric is spread, marked, and precisely cut to minimize wastage. Skilled tailors sew and assemble each garment with in-process checks. Finished pieces are lined with soft cotton, inspected, pressed, tagged, and beautifully packaged in monogramed wrapping paper and recyclable paper bags. Little Buttercups ensures fair wages, safe working conditions, and toxin-free materials—combining creativity, sustainability, ensuring comfort for children and care in every design.

What are the ingredients/materials you use?

At Little Buttercups, our garments are crafted from artistically woven tapestries of natural, colourful, beautiful and 100% pure soft cotton fabric. The fabric is lightweight and breathable, making it ideal for any weather. We use premium handwoven, block-printed, and jacquard textiles to promote India’s rich heritage craftsmanship, preserve traditional artistry, and support artisan livelihoods. Each fabric blends timeless textile traditions with contemporary elegance, celebrating authenticity, comfort, and refined style. Natural dyes, gentle on skin and the planet, enhance our eco-conscious approach. Trims like wooden or coconut shell buttons and cotton laces are made from organic materials. We carefully select vendors through detailed research, sourcing only from those aligned with our brand ethos—plant-based fabrics, non-toxic dyes, organic trims, and sustainable, ethical practices.

How do you source your raw materials/ ingredients?

At Little Buttercups, sourcing raw materials begins with a focus on sustainability, ethics, and ecological balance. We choose fibres and fabrics that are plant-based, natural, biodegradable, and gentle on both skin and the planet. Our dyes are non-toxic and naturally derived, reducing environmental impact. We partner only with vendors who uphold sustainable and ethical practices, ensuring transparency and traceability throughout the supply chain—from farm to fabric. Prioritizing local sourcing, we celebrate India’s age-old weaving and handcrafted traditions while blending them with modern aesthetics. By promoting traditional artistry and contemporary design together, we aim to support skilled artisans, preserve cultural heritage, and bring the beauty of responsibly made, “Made in India” garments to the forefront. Little Buttercups sources its fabrics from vendors like AvagataSara (Gujarat), Fabriclore (Jaipur, Rajasthan), and iTokri (Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh), to name a few.

During its life and beyond, can your products be repurposed or composted at home?

Yes, Little Buttercups products can be repurposed or composted at home. At Little Buttercups, we encourage clients to creatively repurpose garments once they outlive their use. Products can be transformed into bags, pouches, book or cushion covers, scarves, headbands, or patchwork quilts—extending their life and reducing textile waste. Repurposing promotes creativity, a DIY spirit, and supports a circular fashion economy where materials are continuously reused. Our garments can also be composted, as they are made from 100% natural, plant-based, biodegradable cotton and dyed with non-toxic colours. Buttons made from wood or coconut shell decompose naturally. Under proper conditions, shredded cotton mixed with organic waste breaks down into nutrient-rich compost, returning materials to the earth. This process reduces landfill pollution and helps close the sustainability loop in fashion by giving our products an environmentally responsible afterlife.
