What is the manufacturing process?

Certified Fabrics: OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 approved for skin safety and sustainability. Main Body: Soft, breathable cotton/modal blend with elastane for stretch and comfort. Gusset Design: Multi-layer system – moisture-wicking top, absorbent core, and breathable leak-proof barrier. Fabric Prep: Pre-washed to maintain shape and durability. Precision Cutting: Ensures consistent sizing and fit. Assembly: Flat, durable seams for all-day comfort and reduced chafing. Quality Control: Checks for stitching strength, fit accuracy, and leak resistance. Finishing: Pressed, hygiene-sealed, and packed. Packaging: Plastic-free, recyclable, and eco-friendly. Outcome: Long-lasting, comfortable, and responsible period care.

What are the ingredients/materials you use?

• Outer & Inner Fabrics: 95% cotton, 5% elastane — soft, breathable, stretchy, and OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified for safety and comfort. (this is the layer that touches the skin directly) Absorbent Layer (Gusset Core): Made from high-performance polyester, designed to draw in and lock away menstrual fluid. Waterproof Layer: Thin PUL (polyurethane laminate) membrane that prevents leaks while maintaining breathability and a discreet silhouette. Design Notes: The gusset is ultra-thin (under 4 mm) and noiseless—unlike typical menstrual underwear with bulky, crinkly plastic, these feel silent and smooth. Certifications & Sourcing: All fabrics and accessories are OEKO-TEX® certified. Production is 100% in India, using locally sourced materials to reduce ecological footprint.

How do you source your raw materials/ ingredients?

Technical textiles: High-performance polyester layers for absorbency and breathable PUL (polyurethane laminate) for leak protection. Ethical sourcing: Vendors follow hygienic processes, fair labor standards, and eco-conscious practices. Local preference: Majority sourced from Indian mills to lower carbon footprint and support domestic industry. Close partnerships: Work directly with mills for strict quality control, faster turnaround, and reduced logistics emissions. Transparent selection: Suppliers vetted for certifications, material performance, and ethical compliance before onboarding.

During its life and beyond, can your products be repurposed or composted at home?

Woomflo menstrual panties are designed for long-term use, replacing 100+ disposables during their lifespan. At the end of use: 95% Biodegradable – The main body fabric (OEKO-TEX® certified cotton/modal) and absorbent layers can biodegrade under composting conditions. PUL Layer – The thin polyurethane laminate (waterproof layer) is not compostable; it should be separated and sent to textile or plastic recycling. Responsible Disposal – Separate the PUL layer from the fabric where possible; compost the cotton parts and recycle the PUL through local facilities. By following this approach, 95% of the product’s mass can return safely to the earth, with only the PUL requiring special disposal.

Pauline teamed up with her best friend Diya, a fashion designer and educator with experience in running a family business to join her on this journey. Having battled endometriosis and struggled with menstrual cups, she was thrilled to join the mission to revolutionize menstrual care and make this vision a resounding success.
