We work with skilled artisans and local workshops, combining traditional techniques with modern design sensibilities. By producing only what is needed, we not only reduce our environmental footprint but also ensure that every garment is personal, thoughtful, and timeless. What are the ingredients/materials you use?

At Aurea, we consciously choose fabrics that embody both luxury and responsibility. Our collections are crafted primarily from: Hemp – A highly sustainable fiber that requires minimal water, no pesticides, and enriches the soil it grows in. Hemp is naturally breathable, durable, and biodegradable, making it an ideal choice for long-lasting fashion. Tencel™ (Lyocell) Cotton – Produced from sustainably sourced wood pulp through an environmentally responsible process, Tencel is soft, breathable, and gentle on the skin. Its blend with cotton enhances comfort while ensuring durability and versatility. By working with these eco-friendly textiles, Aurea creates garments that are not only elegant and timeless but also aligned with our commitment to slow fashion and conscious living

How do you source your raw materials/ ingredients?

At Aurea, we are deeply committed to responsible sourcing. Our raw materials are chosen with care to ensure they meet our standards of quality, sustainability, and ethics. Hemp is sourced from certified growers who follow eco-friendly farming practices, using little to no pesticides and minimal water. Tencel™ (Lyocell) cotton is procured from suppliers who are aligned with globally recognized sustainability certifications, ensuring traceability and environmentally responsible production. We prioritize local and regional sourcing wherever possible, reducing our carbon footprint while supporting artisanal and small-scale textile producers. Every fabric we use is selected not only for its luxurious feel and durability, but also for its ability to contribute to a more mindful and sustainable fashion ecosystem.

During its life and beyond, can your products be repurposed or composted at home?

Yes — Aurea’s garments are designed to be long-lasting, repurposable, and biodegradable. Since we primarily use natural fibers like hemp and Tencel™ cotton, our pieces can be: Repurposed – The fabrics can be upcycled into smaller lifestyle products (like tote bags, scarves, or home linens) once they reach the end of their life as clothing. Composted – Pure hemp and Tencel fabrics are biodegradable and compostable at home under the right conditions, breaking down without leaving harmful residues. Recycled – The textiles can also be sent to recycling programs where natural fibers are reprocessed into new yarns. By creating with natural, low-impact fibers and minimal synthetic trims, Aurea ensures each garment has a responsible afterlife — whether worn, repurposed, or returned to the earth.
