About Wood Block Carving-Wood block carving has been central to Indian textile printing for centuries. Carved blocks, called buntas or bibal, were carefully made by artisans and handed down through generations. Once blocks aged, they were immersed in rivers instead of discarded. Today, the craft faces decline due to reduced demand. The REKH Collection revives this tradition, transforming historic wood blocks into wearable jewellery and preserving India’s rich artisan heritage.

The purpose behind this collection-This collection was created with Shilp Guru Late Sardar Hussain and his sons in Chhipiwara, Uttar Pradesh. Hussain ji, a National Award-winning artisan, mastered Mughal carving techniques, and his legacy is reflected in each piece.
