We source our Panniyur black pepper from the lush forest-like farms located in Mangalore, Karnataka. Ex- Army man and now a farmer, illustrious Jayaram Shetty has served the Indian Army for twenty-four long years. He has even been a part of the Indo-China war and Indo-Pak war. However, his passion for farming brought him back to his roots post-retirement.

Even at the ripe age of 82, he is zestful and brimming with energy. He can be seen working for long hours in his plantations of pepper, vanilla, coconut, areca nut, and banana that are entirely natural. Even the compost that he uses is made on his farms itself, what can be better? His kids as well as his grandkids are following in his footsteps to revive the lost ways of natural farming!
