No trees are cut to get cork. The cork trees lives for about 200 years and the bark of the cork tree is harvested once only in 10 years. It is estimated that every year cork oak forests retain up to 14 million tonnes of CO2, a sizeable contribution in the reduction of greenhouse gases, the main cause of climate change.

The most surprising is the fact that cork oak increases its ability to absorb these gases during the natural regeneration process following the stripping of bark.

It is 100% biodegradable. The fabric is strong, flexible, maintains itself and versatile, making it an easy choice.

Being made with simply cork and cotton, our cork wallets are home compostable. It has thin yet sturdy cotton lining to make your wallet robust yet stay slim. The average wallet made with leather or even with cloth doesn't compost or even biodegrade because leather becomes non-biodegradable to a certain extent after the tanning process and typically wallets have polyester linings inside them, which doesn't biodegrade. But no such concerns with our cork wallets, we have done the hard work of making them as sustainable as we could! 

Plastic-free Packaging

We package plastic-free from day 1. That's just who we are. We had to put everything in place and not add to the problems of the world. Our packaging is not just plastic-free but simply home compostable. Take everything out, cut in small pieces, throw in your home compost and it turns to compost. Even the paper that we use in our packaging is made from agricultural waste and not made by cutting down trees!
