Dumroo is a small percussion instrument used traditionally by the Hindus and Buddhists for a long time. In Indian Mythology, lord Shiva created the whole universe with the sound of the Dumroo. The Dumroo, also commonly spelled as Damroo or Dumaroo, is played by gently holding the narrow central region with the fingers and vigorously twisting the wrist. This vigorous movement creates a fast-paced percussive sound. Artisans in India traditionally craft these Dumroos, and since they are all handmade, they sometimes vary in size, color, and frequency. They are easy to learn and can be played by all age groups.
