To celebrate International Women’s Day 2021, we at Brown Living, have launched our first chapter of Elevate, with a focus on Women Sociopreneurs - in collaboration with KettoWe want to support innovation and entrepreneurship towards reducing the effects of Climate Change.

We have put together an all-women panel of experts and changemakers in Sustainability in India, to help mentor the winning idea and team for Elevate. Get to know your mentors here:

  1. Chaitsi Ahuja: She began her journey as a social entrepreneur with Brown Living - India’s 1st Plastic-free marketplace. Her online store curates brands that make truly sustainable products for daily use. Chaitsi’s endeavour aims to create deep-rooted awareness in conscious consumption. 

  2. Divya Ravichandran: Divya is the founder of Skrap, a Mumbai-based environment sustainability startup that helps businesses implement zero-waste solutions. She is a passionate advocate of sustainability, low waste living and positive climate action.

  3. Poonam Bir Kasturi: Her passion project Daily Dump has led to diversion of 112 tonnes of compost back to peri-urban farmlands. Daily Dump was awarded the Swachh Bharat award by Hon'ble PM Narendra Modi.

  4. Pragya Kapoor: A successful bollywood producer and a staunch environmentalist who lives by the mantra of sustainable living. Founder of Ek Saath -The Earth Foundation, Pragya remains on a constant pursuit to make the world a better place through her philanthropic efforts & eco-friendly initiatives.

  5. Sahar Mansoor: A social enterprise based on a zero-waste model, Sahar founded Bare Necessities - a lifestyle & consumer goods brand offering eco-conscious products. Having volunteered in humanitarian projects worldwide, she has also worked with WHO and SELCO Foundation.

Together we want to support women entrepreneurs, changemakers and innovators in Sustainability and Climate change. ☘️

Who & What are we looking for?

We are looking to support women entrepreneurs with an idea for social and environmental impact. Specifically, we are looking for:

  1. Big ideas that reduce the impact of human consumption on our planet health.

  2. Potential change-makers, who need that slight push to get their idea off the ground.

  3. Innovators who need our selfless support and right guidance.

What's in it for you?

Through Elevate, we can help you to:

  1. Bring one such sustainable business idea to life.

  2. Provide access to mentors and business owners who have experience in building a successful sustainable business.

  3. Help craft your story to have maximum impact.

  4. Help crowdsource your idea in collaboration with our fundraising Partner Ketto.

How to participate:

  1. Submission of Applications: Fill out your application here. Try to be as detailed as possible to help us understand your idea. Last Date for Application Submission: 14th March 2021.

  2. Evaluation by Expert Jury: The jury will shortlist candidates & conduct one-on-one virtual Interviews. We have an all-women jury for this chapter. We will get in touch with shortlisted participants for a few more details and create a brief pitch deck.

  3. Public Poll: A social voting system will be announced with the finalists from the shortlisted applications.

  4. Fundraise: We will help the winning idea to raise funds via our crowdfunding partner Ketto.
