The rustic Coconut Shell Kudukka or Piggy Bank is handcrafted by artisans and can be opened at the bottom. Made from coconut shells that have been discarded as waste, they are sanded until smooth and polished with coconut oil, to bring out their natural beauty.
This piggy bank was inspired from our nostalgic childhood in Kerala. Growing up, we had earthen piggy banks or “kudukkas” to store our precious pocket money. We used to play with coconut shells as well. It was natural to think of combining these two childhood elements into our handcrafted Thenga kudukka.
These smooth kudukkas are perfect for introducing your little ones to the concept of money, of saving or even to give them an idea of your childhood. The base has an opening that can be screwed and unscrewed making this a lasting place to store tiny treasures.
Our coconut products are sourced and polished in Kerala, called the land of coconuts. Coconuts from this area are stronger and thicker – making it ideal to be used in coconut products. The shells are offered to us by nature and each shell is unique – hence there may be slight variations in size.
Used as a decoration to adorn your room, can be sent to your beloved ones as lovely presents to show your fondness towards them. handmade and each piece is unique, slightly varying in size and colours. Its striking, vintage style makes an impressive decorative that will catch everyone's attention.
