Longpi Heirloom Pumpkin Kettle With Cane Handle - 650ML, is inspired by pumpkin - a familiar and meaningful part of traditional Tangkhul Naga homes.

Made by master artisan Hommi, a state awardee and one of the skilled artisans keeping Longpi pottery alive in Ukhrul, Manipur, this kettle design takes inspiration from the natural form of the pumpkin while bringing it into a functional, contemporary object for the home.

In Tangkhul households, the pumpkin has long been valued for its ability to sustain families through changing seasons. Its flesh, leaves, flowers and seeds are traditionally used, reflecting a way of living where food is valued and little is wasted. The pumpkin is also closely connected to the warmth of the home, often kept near the hearth and shared as part of everyday meals and hospitality.

This piece carries that story through Longpi black pottery - a craft made by hand using natural stone and clay, without a pottery wheel or mould. Its approximately 650 ml capacity makes it suitable for serving water, tea or other beverages, while its sculptural form allows it to stand beautifully as a functional piece of heritage in the home.

Each kettle is individually handcrafted, so natural variations in texture, colour, shape and finish are part of its character.
