Mulberry Silk is the finest and most widely produced form of natural silk, known for its exceptional softness, smooth texture, natural lustre and strength. It is produced by silkworms of the Bombyx mori species, which are traditionally fed exclusively on mulberry leaves. The silk filament is harvested from the intact cocoon, making it a continuous, long filament that can be reeled into exceptionally smooth and uniform yarn. This gives Mulberry Silk its characteristic luxurious sheen, lightweight feel and elegant drape. Unlike Eri Ahimsa Peace Silk, conventional Mulberry Silk production generally involves killing the silkworm inside the cocoon before the moth emerges, so the cocoon can be reeled as one continuous filament.

Natural Mulberry silk is naturally breathable and moisture-absorbent, helping regulate body temperature and making it comfortable across seasons. Mulberry Silk is also known for its hypoallergenic properties and gentle feel against the skin, making it a luxurious and versatile natural fibre.
