About Aeshaane

Aeshaane - Brown Living™

Aeshaane, an award-winning, global slow fashion brand, celebrates the work of rural craftsmen from local communities to create visual masterpieces from Peace silk – a cruelty-free cloth combined with the ancient technique of hand block printing. This integrated with striking geometrical patterns blurs the line between traditional and modern, crafting something that is unique, one of a kind and has been touched in it’s own special way by experienced artisanal hands. Aeshaane has been commissioned by World-famous Museums namely - • The Van Gogh Museum, The Netherlands • The World-famous The Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A), London • The British Museum, London • Sante Fe Opera, New Mexico • Sarasota Art Museum U.S.A • Fallingwater Museum U.S • Parrish Art Museum, U.S • Phillips Collection, U.S • Blanton Museum of Art, U.S • Palazzo Dei Diamanti, Italy • The Textile Museum, The Netherlands • Royal Museums of Art & History, Brussels • New Orleans Museum of Art, New Orleans, U.S.A

Mission Statement

To redefine luxury through compassion, craftsmanship, and conscious consumption.

Impact Created

Aeshaane creates positive social, environmental, and cultural impact through every product it makes. By working with Ahimsa (Peace) Silk, the brand offers a compassionate alternative to conventional silk, allowing silkworms to complete their natural life cycle before the fibre is harvested. Through its network of artisans, we help preserve traditional Indian crafts such as hand spinning, weaving on wooden looms, and hand block printing, ensuring these skills are passed on to future generations. Aeshaane creates dignified and sustainable livelihoods for rural artisans, particularly women, through fair wages, flexible working conditions, and long-term employment opportunities. By embracing slow fashion, small-batch production, and natural fibres, we reduce environmental impact while encouraging mindful consumption. Through ethical luxury, Aeshaane demonstrates that fashion can be a force for good—for artisans, communities, animals, and the planet.

What is the manufacturing process?

At Aeshaane, every scarf is handcrafted through a slow, artisan-led process that honours both people and the planet. Our journey begins with tribal communities that sustainably rear Eri silkworms in their natural environment. Once the moth completes its lifecycle and emerges from the cocoon, women artisans spin the fibres into yarn, which is then handwoven on traditional wooden looms. The fabric is further enriched through hand block printing, natural dyeing, washing, and finishing, with each stage carried out by skilled artisans using time-honoured techniques. A single scarf takes several days to create, reflecting the care, craftsmanship, and attention to detail invested in every piece. By preserving traditional crafts and supporting artisan communities, Aeshaane creates luxury that is ethical, sustainable, and deeply human.

What are the ingredients/materials you use?

Material: 100% Natural Eri Peace Silk Handfeel: Lightweight, airy, fluid, and exceptionally soft with a beautiful, effortless drape. Why is it called Peace Silk? Eri silk, often referred to as Ahimsa or Peace Silk, is derived from silkworms that feed on castor leaves. Unlike conventional silk production, where cocoons are boiled to preserve the continuous filament, Eri silk is harvested only after the moth naturally emerges from the cocoon. This non-violent process allows the silkworm to complete its life cycle, making Eri silk an ethical and sustainable alternative to conventional silk. Properties: Strong, durable, biodegradable, hypoallergenic, and naturally antibacterial, Eri silk offers year-round comfort—cool in summer and warm in winter. Produced through sustainable farming practices with a minimal carbon footprint, it is one of the world's most environmentally responsible luxury fibres.

How do you source your raw materials/ ingredients?

At Aeshaane, we source our raw materials responsibly through a transparent and ethical supply chain. Our primary fibre is 100% natural Ahimsa (Peace) Silk, including Eri and Tussar silk, sourced from artisan communities that follow non-violent silk farming practices. Unlike conventional silk, the silk fibres are harvested only after the moth has naturally emerged from the cocoon, allowing its life cycle to be completed. We work closely with tribal and rural artisan communities involved in silk rearing, spinning, weaving, dyeing, and hand block printing. By prioritising handmade production, traditional techniques, fair wages, and small-batch manufacturing, we ensure our materials are sourced with respect for both people and the environment. Our commitment is to create luxury products with low environmental impact while preserving India's rich textile heritage.

During its life and beyond, can your products be repurposed or composted at home?

At Aeshaane, we design our pieces to be treasured for years, not seasons. With proper care, our handcrafted Peace Silk scarves are made to become a lasting part of your wardrobe. We encourage mindful consumption through repair, reuse, and repurposing. When a scarf is no longer worn as originally intended, it can be transformed into a hair accessory, neck tie, pocket square, belt, handbag accent, cushion cover, or framed textile artwork. Many customers also pass their scarves on to family members as heirloom pieces. Made from 100% natural Eri Peace Silk, our products are fully biodegradable at the end of their useful life. We celebrate circularity and encourage customers to repair, reuse, swap, gift, or creatively upcycle their pieces before considering disposal. To extend the life of your Aeshaane piece: • Dry clean for best results • Use a gentle steam iron • Avoid storing in plastic, as silk needs to breathe • Store in the recycled cotton bag provided with every purchase
