Google India has announced the first cohort of 20 startups that have been selected under its  Google for Startups Accelerator Women Founders program.

Google India informed that it received close to 400 applications and out of which, 20 women-led startups have been selected for the first cohort. It further stated that its women-focused accelerator program would help these startups in areas such as — access to capital, resolving problems in hiring talent, mentorship and other allied challenges faced by women entrepreneurs.

Besides, Google India’s accelerator program will also host workshops and provide support to startups in areas such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, cloud, UX, Android, web, product strategy and growth. It will further connect them with a global community of women entrepreneurs.

Google India’s Google for Startups Accelerator Women Founders program was launched in June this year with a focus on women-led sector-agonistic early-stage and growth-stage startups.
