Our goal is to create handmade bath and body care products that are not only aesthetically appealing but also skin-friendly and thoughtfully crafted. As a growing small business, we are focused on building sustainable practices, supporting custom manufacturing for emerging brands, and creating opportunities for women entrepreneurs through white labelling and product customisation. We primarily work in small batches to reduce wastage and maintain quality control. We aim to use skin-safe ingredients, reusable packaging wherever possible, and consciously sourced raw materials. Some of the key challenges we currently face include scaling production while maintaining handmade quality, sourcing sustainable packaging at affordable costs, and increasing awareness about handcrafted personal care products in a highly competitive market.

What is the manufacturing process?

our soaps are handcrafted in small batches with a focus on quality, skin safety, and creativity. Our manufacturing process begins with carefully selecting premium oils, butters, soap bases, fragrances, and skin-loving additives. The ingredients are then measured precisely and blended in controlled temperatures to maintain their effectiveness. Depending on the product type, the soaps are either melt-and-pour or handcrafted using specialised techniques. We then add colours, fragrances, exfoliants, clays, or botanicals to create unique designs and skin benefits. Once poured into molds, the soaps are allowed to set properly before being demolded, trimmed, quality-checked, and packed hygienically. Every batch is made with attention to detail to ensure a luxurious bathing experience along with aesthetic appeal.

What are the ingredients/materials you use?

we use a variety of skin-friendly and high-quality ingredients depending on the type of soap and its purpose. Some commonly used ingredients include: Natural oils like coconut oil, olive oil, castor oil, and almond oil Butters such as shea butter and cocoa butter Glycerin soap base or premium melt & pour bases Essential oils and cosmetic-grade fragrances Natural clays, activated charcoal, oats, coffee, herbs, and botanicals Skin-beneficial additives like aloe vera, goat milk, honey, turmeric, and fruit extracts Cosmetic-safe colours and exfoliants All ingredients are carefully selected to create soaps that are gentle on the skin, aesthetically appealing, and suitable for daily use.

How do you source your raw materials/ ingredients?

At Soap Chemistry, we carefully source our raw materials from trusted vendors and manufacturers across India. We focus on high-quality ingredients that are skin-safe, cruelty-free, and thoughtfully selected for our handmade bath & body products. From nourishing oils and butters to premium fragrances, clays, botanicals, and soap bases — every ingredient is carefully selected with quality and performance in mind. We also work closely with suppliers to customise materials based on the product requirements of our brand and our white-label clients.

During its life and beyond, can your products be repurposed or composted at home?

are designed with sustainability in mind. Our soaps are biodegradable and can safely break down after use. Certain natural ingredients used in our products are compost-friendly, and wherever possible, we aim to use minimal and recyclable packaging. Some containers and jars can also be reused or repurposed at home for storage or organisation. However, compostability may vary depending on the specific product ingredients and packaging materials used.
