About Nirasooti

Nirasooti - Brown Living™

Nirasooti began with a decision to choose something of my own. I started my journey as a teacher. Teaching gave me a lot—patience, confidence, and the ability to understand people. But somewhere along the way, I realised that my heart was pulling me towards something creative, something I could build with my own hands and ideas. Leaving teaching wasn’t an easy decision. There was uncertainty, fear, and no perfect plan waiting for me on the other side. But I knew I wanted to create something that felt honest and meaningful. That is how Nirasooti began. I was always drawn to the comfort of cotton, the beauty of Indian textiles, and clothes that feel effortless rather than excessive. I wanted to create a brand that celebrates khadi, craftsmanship, simplicity, and the woman wearing it. Nirasooti is still growing, and I’m still learning every day. From teaching to creating, from a thought to a brand — this is my Nirasooti journey.

What is the manufacturing process?

01. Choosing the Fabric We begin with fabrics chosen for their natural feel, breathability, comfort, and suitability for everyday wear. 02. Thoughtful Design Each design is created with simplicity and ease in mind—clothes that feel beautiful without feeling complicated. 03. Cutting & Stitching The fabric is carefully cut and stitched, giving attention to fit, finishing, and small details. 04. Handcrafted Details Where the design calls for it, hand embroidery and handcrafted details add a personal touch to each piece. 05. Quality Check Every garment is checked for stitching, finishing, measurements, and overall appearance before it reaches you. 06. Packed With Care Finally, your Nirasooti piece is packed thoughtfully and ready to become part of your wardrobe. Our philosophy Made thoughtfully. Finished carefully. Worn naturally.

What are the ingredients/materials you use?

Khadi Cotton — breathable, lightweight, and rooted in Indian textile traditions. * Handwoven Cotton — chosen for its natural texture and comfortable everyday feel. * Natural & Earthy Fabrics — selected with a focus on simplicity, comfort, and mindful clothing. * Hand Embroidery — delicate handcrafted details that give each piece its own character.

How do you source your raw materials/ ingredients?

At Nirasooti, sourcing begins with trust and intention. We look for fabrics that feel right—not just fabrics that look good. We work with trusted textile and fabric suppliers to source khadi cotton and handwoven cotton, paying attention to the fabric’s feel, texture, comfort, and quality before it becomes part of a Nirasooti piece. We prefer materials that support our belief in natural comfort, Indian craftsmanship, and thoughtful production. We don’t believe in making more just for the sake of making more. We choose our fabrics carefully and create pieces that we hope you’ll wear often, keep longer, and truly love.

During its life and beyond, can your products be repurposed or composted at home?

Nirasooti pieces can be reused, repaired, repurposed, or passed on before being discarded. Cotton garments can find a second life as home-use cloth, cleaning cloths, pouches, or other useful fabric pieces.
