About Joon Blu

Our founder's love for finesse, earth-friendly materials, and well-tailored bags took her on a journey to explore some of the most amazing alt-materials to leather and faux leather. On the quest to find something that mirrors the luxe of leather, versatility of canvas, durability of jute, the low-impact nature of recycled materials, and the finish of bespoke tailoring, she set out to find an all-in-one! Curated with extensive research, numerous interviews, various material samples, multiple prototyping, design trials, and thorough user-centric testing performed over a period of 18+ months is what evolved into Joon Blu. Our commitment goes beyond mere aesthetics – Joon Blu bags are created using recycled PET yarns, making them more durable than ever, 100% washable, and versatile enough to fit seamlessly into your life; knitted to form, ensuring a zero-waste production process – a step towards our shared love for the planet.

What is the manufacturing process?

We source GRS certified Recycled PET yarns from certified vendors. Using a zero waste knitting technique we knit the panels in the shape required. All the panels are put together to make a bag minimising the waste generated during the manufacturing process.

What are the ingredients/materials you use?

Recycled PET Yarns, Metallic, non tarnish, long lasting hardware- including Logo Plates, Zippers, Pullers, Zip ends, Feet, Adjusters, D-rings. We use durable drill fabric for lining.

How do you source your raw materials/ ingredients?

Our raw material Recycled PET yarns are sourced from GRS certified recycling units. The yarns are then knitted in to pre-shaped panels in a GRS certified knitting unit. These panels form the basic raw materials for our products.

During its life and beyond, can your products be repurposed or composted at home?

Yes, our very unique knitted fabric can be recycled again. Once you do not wish to use the same bag any further, the bag can be recycled after removing all the hardware, and lining or any other embellishment used.
