About Hemp Closet

Hemp Closet - Brown Living™

It started with a simple question — why can’t clothes be kind to the planet and still look incredible? Hemp Closet was born out of that thought. What began as curiosity about this less explored fabric turned into a journey to reimagine everyday wear — clothes that breathe, move, and age beautifully. We discovered the magic of hemp: strong, airy, timeless. We paired it with cotton for comfort, added effortless designs, and built a brand that feels good in every sense. From our seed-paper tags to coconut shell buttons, every detail reflects thought and care. Hemp Closet isn’t just fashion — it’s a quiet rebellion against throwaway trends, a promise that conscious clothing can be cool, durable, and made for everyone.

Mission Statement

To make hemp part of every closet by creating clothing that blends style, comfort, & sustainability

Impact Created

Every Hemp Closet garment helps reduce fashion’s footprint. Hemp uses up to 50× less water than cotton and grows without pesticides, enriching the soil instead of depleting it. By blending hemp with cotton, using azo-free dyes, and plastic-free, plantable packaging, we’ve saved thousands of litres of water and reduced single-use waste from every order. Each piece is a small step towards a cleaner, more responsible fashion future.

At Hemp Closet, we believe sustainability starts with people. Our production partners in Noida work with local artisans and tailors, providing fair wages, upskilling in sustainable stitching techniques, and training in handling hemp fabrics — a material that requires precision and care. By supporting small workshops and empowering young craftsmen, we’re building a community that grows alongside the brand — skilled, conscious, and future-ready.

What is the manufacturing process?

Every Hemp Closet piece is made through a carefully crafted, transparent process. We source pure hemp threads from trusted partners in China and weave them into soft, breathable hemp-cotton fabrics in India. The fabric is then dyed/printed using certified azo-free dyes that are gentle on both skin and the planet. All our garments are stitched and finished in our Noida workshop by skilled artisans who ensure precision and durability in every seam. We produce in small batches to maintain quality and reduce waste, keeping our focus on mindful production rather than mass manufacturing.

What are the ingredients/materials you use?

All Hemp Closet garments are made from a hemp–cotton blend, combining the strength and breathability of hemp with the softness of cotton. Some of our pieces are even finished with coconut shell buttons, adding a natural and earthy detail. Each garment also comes with a plantable seed tag, allowing you to grow something green once you’re done unboxing.

How do you source your raw materials/ ingredients?

We use a premium blend of hemp and cotton for all our apparel. The hemp thread is responsibly sourced from China — known for its advanced hemp cultivation and spinning expertise — while the cotton and weaving are done locally in India. This cross-sourcing model ensures high-quality yarns with a low environmental footprint. Every step, from yarn to finished fabric, is chosen with care to balance sustainability, comfort, and style. Our dyes are azo-free, and trims are selected for long life, making each piece durable and planet-friendly.

During its life and beyond, can your products be repurposed or composted at home?

Hemp Closet garments are designed to live long and return softly to nature. Made from natural hemp-cotton blends, our fabrics are biodegradable and gentle on the earth. Over time, the fabric itself can naturally decompose under composting conditions, leaving minimal environmental trace. Every Hemp Closet piece is created to be worn often, aged beautifully, and leave behind nothing but good memories
