GreenAmor was founded with a simple vision: to transform agricultural waste into sustainable materials that can replace conventional plastics. Inspired by the abundance of coconut coir waste generated across Kerala, we developed a patented coir-based composite material that converts this underutilized resource into compostable packaging solutions. Our journey has involved years of research, material development, testing, and collaboration with industry partners. Today, GreenAmor is working with personal care and cosmetic brands to bring sustainable packaging to market while creating value for the coir ecosystem. Our goal is to accelerate the transition towards a circular economy by turning waste into innovative, high-performance products.

GreenAmor transforms coconut coir fibre waste into compostable packaging solutions, creating value from an underutilized agricultural by-product while reducing reliance on conventional plastic packaging. To date, we have developed a patented coir-based material, completed pilot sales, and validated our solution with multiple brands. Our team is 75% women-led, and our packaging solutions have contributed to avoiding an estimated 78 kg CO₂-eq emissions compared to conventional glass and polypropylene packaging alternatives

What is the manufacturing process?

GreenAmor's products are manufactured using a proprietary material made from coconut coir fibre waste and bio-based polymers. The coir fibre is cleaned, processed, and blended with biopolymers through a compounding process to create a durable, compostable material. The compounded material is then converted into granules and processed using conventional manufacturing techniques such as injection moulding to produce packaging components. This approach enables us to create functional, aesthetically pleasing products while utilizing agricultural waste and reducing dependence on conventional plastic

What are the ingredients/materials you use?

Our primary raw material is coconut coir fibre waste, an abundant by-product of the coconut industry. This is combined with bio-based and compostable polymers along with carefully selected additives that enhance performance and processability. The resulting material is designed to offer the functionality required for packaging applications while maintaining a lower environmental footprint than conventional plastic alternatives.

How do you source your raw materials/ ingredients?

We source coconut coir fibre waste from local coir-processing units in Kerala, helping create value from an underutilized agricultural by-product. Our biopolymers are procured from established suppliers that provide quality-assured, industrial-grade bio-based materials. We prioritize responsible sourcing practices, local supply chains where possible, and suppliers that align with our commitment to sustainability and material traceability.

During its life and beyond, can your products be repurposed or composted at home?

Our products are designed to be durable and reusable throughout their intended lifecycle. After use, they can be repurposed for storing small household items, travel essentials, craft materials, seeds, or other lightweight applications, extending their useful life and reducing waste. At the end of their lifecycle, our coir-based material is designed to be compostable under controlled composting conditions. We encourage users to reuse products wherever possible before disposal. By utilizing renewable coconut coir fibre waste and compostable materials, GreenAmor aims to provide a more sustainable alternative to conventional plastic packaging and support circular material use.
