About GALHO Wild FOODS

GALHO Wild FOODS - Brown Living™

GALHO Wild foods is more than a food brand - it is a movement to reconnect people with the wild foods, cultures, and biodiversity of Northeast India. Inspired by the traditional Naga dish Galho, a wholesome meal made by blending diverse ingredients into one pot, the brand represents the coming together of communities, cultures, and nature. Founded under JOME Foods Pvt. Ltd., GALHO wild foods began with a mission to bring the authentic tastes of Northeast India to the world while creating sustainable livelihoods for indigenous communities and work towards solving the issues of food wastages in the region. The company initially focused on ethically sourced wild forest honey from Nagaland and has since evolved into Northeast India's first experiential wild foods brand.

What is the manufacturing process?

At GALHO Wild Foods every jar of honey begins in the wild forests of Nagalad, Northeast India, where our trusted beekeepers carefully harvest honey using sustainable practices. By sourcing directly from our beekeeping communities, we ensure authenticity, traceability, and exceptional quality. Each batch undergoes strict quality checks before being gently double-filtered to remove natural impurities such as wax particles and debris. Unlike commercially processed honey, we do not over-filter, pasteurize, or subject our honey to unnecessary processing. This minimal approach helps preserve its natural enzymes, antioxidants, pollen, and beneficial nutrients while maintaining its unique flavour and aroma. Our goal is simple: to deliver pure, premium-quality honey in its most natural form, preserving the richness and goodness that nature intended.

What are the ingredients/materials you use?

Contents: 100% Pure Raw Wild Honey, naturally harvested from the wild forests and hills of Nagaland. This honey is unprocessed, unpasteurized, and free from added sugar, preservatives, artificial flavors, colors, and chemicals, preserving its natural taste, aroma, and nutritional properties. Packaging Material: Packed in a food-grade glass jar/bottle designed to maintain product quality and freshness. The container is fitted with a secure, tamper-evident lid to ensure safety, hygiene, and product integrity during storage and transportation.

How do you source your raw materials/ ingredients?

We source our honey directly from local beekeepers and wild honey harvesters in Nagaland. We work closely with communities to ensure ethical harvesting practices, quality control, and traceability. The honey is collected, filtered, tested, and packaged while preserving its natural characteristics.

During its life and beyond, can your products be repurposed or composted at home?

Repurposed: Yes, customers can reuse the jar for storing spices, seeds, snacks, or household items. Composted at home: The honey itself is natural and biodegradable, but the glass jar cannot be composted.
