Daman is an amalgamation of India’s rich textile heritage with the Japanese art of Furoshiki, creating beautiful and eco-friendly fabric gift wraps. The word ‘Daman’ is the Sanskrit word for gift or the act of giving and Furoshiki is the Japanese technique of wrapping gifts, books and other objects with fabric.
Fabric gift wraps are an eco-friendly alternative to paper and plastic wraps, being not only reusable but also biodegradable. Traditionally the Furoshiki wrap was returned back to giver, but you can make it a part of your gift. Daman wraps can be reused as a gift wrap or can be used creatively as a napkin, a tea towel, a bandana or even as a scarf!
Each Daman Wrap is accompanied by an easy to follow wrapping instruction diagram. Different wrapping styles are used for different objects, depending on the size and shape to be wrapped. A sizing guide is also included to make it easy to understand which Daman Wrap is suitable for which size of package.
Daman wraps are available in the following different sizes
Small 18″ X 18″ (Suitable for objects between 4″x 4″x 3 ” and 6″x 6″x 3″)
Medium. 24″ X 24″ (Suitable for objects between 6″ x 6″ x 3″ and 9″ x 6″ x 4″)
Large. 40″ X 40″ (Suitable for objects between 12″x 12″ x 6″ to 16″ x 16″ x 4″)
The above Daman sizing guide is a volumetric guide. For example, if the stated suitability of the small size wrap is for objects upto 6 x 6 x 3 inches it translates into a volume of approximately 108 cu. inches. This size wrap can be therefore used for objects measuring 9 x 6 x 2 inches or 7 x 5 x 3 inches.
