What is this Magic Potion called Essential Oils? Why is it Sustainable? - Brown Living™

While more research is being conducted, essential oils have a wealth of proven health benefits. Essential oils are a single ingredient product with a multitude of uses. It is a truly affordable, versatile, and convenient way to improve your health and quality of life while being Zero Waste.

You can use the oils to relieve pain and cramping, improve respiratory health, heal skin conditions or just use them as a diffuser oil to set a calming mood in your living room.

What is the use of essential oils in Aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy is a holistic healing treatment that uses natural plant extracts for better health and well-being. It's often also called essential oil therapy. Aromatherapy uses aromatic essential oils medicinally to improve the health of the body, mind, and spirit. It enhances both physical and emotional health.

We got the Sneh Pagrani, the Founder of Clay Essentials to share her top 3 reasons to use Essential Oils:

1. You can create your own Diffuser Blends using Essential Oils

Combining two to three essential oils will help you create your own special blend of essential oils that you love.

When you start creating your own blends do not use more than three essential oils at one time.

  • First, choose the three aromas you like best. Keep them aside.

  • Then choose the one you like the most followed by two others in order of your preference.

  • Add 3 drops of your first preferred oil followed by 1 drop each of the other two preferred oils.

  • After creating a blend, let it stay for a while before you decide whether you like it or not. Store in a dark glass bottle and use as a diffuser oil. Creating your own Diffuser Blends Using Essential Oils

2. Its a Single-Ingredient, Multi-use Product: Sustainable

Essential Oils are actually single-ingredient products (or SIPs as we like to call them), a super-concentrated extract of one ingredient, often a plant-based one like Rose, Jasmine, Peppermint, etc.

The reason behind essential oils being some of the most potent remedies is, they are steam distilled rather than chemically extracted, meaning their nutritional value is retained.

Because they're as natural as it gets, they oftentimes can “multitask”, serving up nutrients to skin, hair, nails, and beyond. Hence, proving to be most sustainable!

"We strive to reduce our waste & promote reusing used paper for packaging. The delivery boxes are filled with shredded (used/ waste) paper instead of plastic bubble-wraps! We are trying to reuse all of our packing materials to send across our deliveries. Also, we have entirely switched to paper-based tapes, all thanks to the team at Brown Living for helping us out in our Zero-waste journey!"
